Biographies

Dexter Eggers has been licensed to practice law in Kansas since 1990. His broad legal experience includes criminal defense work, family law representation, juvenile cases, child support enforcement, public benefits appeals, agricultural law and legal services for senior citizens.

Eggers received his law degree is from Suffolk University in Boston. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy and a master’s degree in plant breeding from Kansas State University. He has helped manage his family’s western Kansas farm and now is co-owner and manager of a horse boarding facility, E Bar Z Stables near Salina. He raises and trains quarter horses. Bird City, Kansas, is his hometown.

Ann Zimmerman is a licensed attorney and state-approved mediator. Her law degree is from Harvard, 1988. She has been practicing law and mediating in Kansas since that time. Her undergraduate degree is from Kansas State University in elementary education. Salina, Kansas, is her hometown.

Zimmerman is a State of Kansas-approved mediator, and is certified as a mentor mediator. She has mediated domestic cases, educational matters, employment discrimination issues, business conflicts and small claims disputes; she has been involved in farmer-lender mediations; she has mentored several mediator trainees; and she has training and experience in facilitation of public meetings. She serves on the board of directors of the Heartland Mediators Association, is president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) section of the Kansas Bar Association, and served on the Kansas ADR Advisory Board and a bench-bar committee for low-income mediation in the 28th Judicial District (Saline and Ottawa Counties).

Her litigation and administrative law experience have been at the state and federal levels. She is an advisory board member for the Volunteer Connection in Salina and is president of the Salina League of Women Voters. She is a director of the Salina Supply Company, a family-owned wholesale plumbing, heating and air conditioning business and is co-owner of E Bar Z Stables, a horse-boarding operation near Salina. She spends her free time as a professional folk singer, performing across Kansas and around the country.
